The range of single spring
traditional mechanical seals on the market is very diverse, but
basically comprises of ranges from premium manufacturers such as
John Crane, Flexibox, Sealol and Burgmann, plus pattern parts
from a variety of other sources which although generally of much
simpler and less robust construction are interchangeable with
the dimensional envelopes of the market leading brands.
We have found that the quality of these pattern seals can be
inconsistent in some ranges and any equivalents offered by us
have been carefully selected to ensure good quality parts which
will give long term client satisfaction.
A further division of these ranges is the split between:
Pusher seals which generally use O rings to seal to the shaft,
having the contact point with the shaft pushed along by the
spring, and Non Pusher or bellows type seals where there is a
flexible membrane which stays in a fixed position on the shaft
and absorbs any misalignment or movement by the flexibility of
the elastomer of the bellows.
